FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a Scam?
This is the most common question I get asked and in this day and age you are right to question it.
Unfortunately, my telling you it's real doesn't mean that much as a scam artist would give you exactly the same answer.
The truth is that I am a homeowner who has a spectacular house but has been unable to sell it in this market. So, I thought I would try and raffle it.
Where does the money from ticket purchases go?
The money from the sale of tickets goes to the lawyers trust account and they are in charge of the money. This way you don't need to worry about the money being taken or misused. The raffle will be independently audited and the prize will be drawn by an independent third party and none of my relatives can enter the draw.
How many tickets will be sold?
A maximum of 20,000 which if all the tickets are sold give you a 1 in 20,000 chance of becoming a millionaire which is way better than the lottery, as you have more chance of being struck by lightning twice, than you do of winning the lottery. And there can be only one winner so it's not like you have to share the prize.
How much is a ticket?
Tickets are $100 USD.
What do I get if I win?
You get the house featured in the video titled Paradise Raffle.
It comes mostly furnished, so all you need to bring is your suitcases.
What can I do with the house?
You can rent it out.
Sell it.
Live in it.
Turn it into a boutique Bed & Breakfast
Or pretty much do anything else you like (I run my business from it, as the house has 3 levels and I use one level for offices).
Do I need to pay anything for the house if I win?
No; our aim is to raise enough money to have all expenses paid that are incurred in Vanuatu
What if you don't raise enough money to pay the mortgage?
Honestly, I don't even want to think about this. After all, who wouldn't want to live in a tropical island paradise with amazing views, minutes from town?
In this case we would change the raffle prize to be all the cash raised minus expenses.
When will the raffle be drawn?
The draw date is officially the 4th of July but if all tickets are sold before this date then the draw would be sooner. But if on this date we haven't sold all the tickets but are within 10% of the amount required to release the mortgage then we can extend the date by another month.
Can anyone enter?
Unfortunately, it isn't open to citizens or residents of Vanuatu or to anyone connected to the raffle or my family but anyone else is free to enter.
Is there a limit to the number of tickets I can buy?
Nope; if you want to buy all 20,000 I might question your sanity but I certainly won't stop you.
